Quick note about Uno…

UPDATE: Arduino v.0022 has fixed this so just download the latest and greatest.

As we are making the maxuino updates we found that the Uno issue is with the Arduino IDE, not Maxuino as there is a defect in the way 57600 baud works. We are adding a baud selector, but in the meantime you can change the baudrate in firmata and in maxuino to any other number (they still have to match of course) and the uno should work.

    I have the same problem,
    When I change the baudrate in the firmata to 9600 for example, I don’t manage to upload it into the arduino.
    avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

    Hello Tom, it’s true we have been tied up teaching lately and so the development has been slow. We have also been spending time on a modified firmata to allow the stepper motor capability, which is working, but needs some polishing. Hope to have something up quite soon, thanks for the prodding. ;)

    Hello, FIrst off, thanks so much for the patch I’ve got it working great in both stand alone and M4L. One single problem however, is that for the life of me, I can’t seem to get the OSC control of the analog inputs to work (including the basic command that you include in the M4L example). Did you know what might be going on here/ have you tested it?

    I have tested a stepper motor which is done, and then eventually want to control it via maxuino.
    I am no good at arduino sketch, do prefer to use max/msp, so would be great if i was able to control rotation degree & speed of it in maxuino.
    However, I have no idea how to programme a firmata sketch in arduino.
    Please share or write that sketch for me if you don’t mind.
    I am kind of in emergency, need to overcome this problem as soon as possible.

    murryshimada – your desperate note inspired me to get the ball rolling. I have posted a working alpha of the maxuino with stepper capability. hopefully you can try it and it will be helpful, but also we want to know what level of control is needed for it to be useful so please give feedback while we finish development.
